They are both gorgeous. I was told a few years ago that white GSDs can be aggressive and are slightly unhinged. Is this true?
I read that white GSD are very timid and fearful ..

But hey.. it's their up-bringing that counts and they both seem to have loving homes! They are both beautiful.. GSD are by far my fav breed (Border Terrier an inch in front of course ) .. I grew up with them and my mum has a 40k male long hair GSD! he's lush!!!

Re: looking for a new fur-baby

the two dogs are fine together. We're making sure KIdu is seen to be pack leader at all times and there's not been the slightest inkling of any problem between them.

The boy took about an hour from me coming in to be settled enough to curl up beside me and go to sleep.
He tried to steal fat from the frying pan, and DIck tapped on the kitchen window to distract him, and he shot away and cowered - presumably waiting for a blow to fall? Anyway of course nothing happened and he came back in but was wary for a few minutes.
I can't see he had a "normal" home life.
And nor can I attribute his fears to be in a new home (being taken away from all that was familiar to him).

well just keep letitng him settle in, and show him rules and guidelines gently when needed.

Re: looking for a new fur-baby

Ooh he's very handsome! I bet you'll get a lot of attention walking him with the longcoated black one aswell!

You mention he has issues with people- it does seem odd that he's finding you 'new' to him every time even now, particularly in your house with what should now be your familiar scents- How is he getting on with ther other dog? They look prefectly happy together in that pic!

Re: looking for a new fur-baby

He's beautiful, best of luck with him

Re: looking for a new fur-baby
no more so than the chances of getting one in another colour!
the aggression mostly stems from fear, especially in young GSD.
and this boy was so scared of us he did bare his teeth on the first night.
12 days on he still has problems when meeting us again on a new occasion (getting up in the morning, coming in from work etc, a sort of amnesia maybe which I've not seen in a dog before, and which is causing a lot of hard work by getting in to feel more secure in his new home...
So, currently he's not been outside the home while we work on getting him confident being around us.....not exactly what we were led to believe he was like when we went to rescue him ( the rescue picked him up earlier from a 6th floor flat with beer cans for toys.....and he came with a tatty collar and lead which I don't think were his, and no food, bedding or toys). He's very underweight as well and only 2 1/2 years old.

Re: looking for a new fur-baby

They are both gorgeous.
