RIIIIIIIGGGHHHT!

I think he has had pin out- he has been castrated, not certen re vax but he had been in kennels for hols so think he is.

Have spoken to O's son who says he has resource guarding behaviors re the sofa and O towards anyone in the room. She has had behaviourists in who (she says) say he is sortable with work. I think he has developed this as he has been passed around etc. Son says she babied him++++++ at 1st and gave him no rules and boundaries than tried to give him rules and he is challenging her. (she is in her 70's). He will not be PTS (thank god!) Son is adamant about that so thats a relief. I have stressed to him to try n not put him in kennels during x-mas as it might push him over the edge! he may bring him to Devon to me nxt week if poss.

Re his leg, think pin is out. he has had hydro for it the local kennels does it but not sure if had physio chk over or not. He as been castrated and think vet took pin out then. I could wiggle his patella ++ when I had him so it might need sorting, not sure yet.

So he is a project, but prob not the worst out there, most form rescue kennels have clingyness and possession issues, at least you know what he has and can get him under the thumb (in a nice way!) form the start. I'd love him to go to a VN home, even if just to know he will get the care he needs! (and so I could keep in touch). I feel responsible for him and feel sooo bad that he has developed probs and is being passed on again.

THANK you soo much for your help guys!!!!

I want to know first though about his medical history as I seem to recall that there were a couple of problems with him: luxating patella and lameness due to an old # and a pin that needed to be removed. I remember that this new owner was going to get all this sorted so I just want to know whether this was all done. Plus, is he neutered/vacc'd? It may not affect the VNs decision due to her circumstances (I think everydog she ever adopts seems to need a lot of money spent on it - she seems to take on all the needy ones) but I would prefer to give her all the facts that I know of when I call her.

The problem is, she doesnt know the full extent of things, not being a VN and not having had access to this forum! I have just emailed her a brief, rambling synopsis and will see what she says - personally I'd like to see him with a VN!

I would also be keen to have him but am moving to a long-term locum position after new Years and haven't found out yet if pets would be allowed.

She is taking him ASAP to her vet to have x-rays to see if his metal work needs to come out (it was meant to be removed 4weeks post op, that was 3years ago!). She is quite happy to pay a lot of money to get his leg sorted to all good really!!!
