as well as phoning people i sent out emails, detailing what we were doing and why it was important and asking thier help either with goodies or prizes etc. i found this easier as i could let them knoew everything from the start, plus im not very good on the phone i nstart to stutter and forget half of what i want to say etc.

Will be on the case to the reps after some freebies, but i am finding them hard to get hold of, and not having my calls returned its getting a bit annoying, but im sure i will get there!

You guys have had some good idea's, appreciate the help!!!!

think i used up my full quota from novartis, got ballones pens bags, they even brought me a dog costume todat, will prob get some from wilkinsons

Try Novartis as they did have worm type sweets advertising milbemax....might get sum sent to you worth asking

yeah have been trying to put some kiddies goodybags together just need to find a big batch of cheap sweets got some colourin sheets, badges ballons

Have something fun for the kids to do.......jar of wriggly worms (sweets) to put hand in and get a prize out??? Coloruing comp.....bring the pics to your practice for you to display in your waiting room and have prizes for the best one.........its always good when theres something for the kids as they bring the parents along!!!!!!!

we are having one this sunday at our country fair in bury, never done one before so bit nervous, there seems so much to do and organise. we contacted all the reps to see if they could provide gifts, freebies or even a raffle prize, plus leaflets etc. some of the local bussinesses have given us raffle prizes. we are giving out carreer info and info on nursing, hoping to do microchipping but not sure if rspca will be doing it and we can compete with thier prices

would love some more ideas

Last year I organised me and my nurses to have a stand in the local shopping centre.......was a great success.......did dog healthchecks, microchipping, handed out bandanas (frontline) for dogs, had lots of info from our local college to hand out......great displays showing what us VNs do on a daily basis, raised money for the BVNA charity of the year.....just have lots of fun doing it.........we did.........gave lots of freebies out food samples, leaflets, etc, etc.....you will have lots of fun......

We are having a stand for vet nurse week too, ours will be at a local dog show being held by one of our local re homing charities.

Our thoughts so far were to have a stand advertising free "check ups" in the park! We will do a check over of the animal and give out free goody bags with information leaflets and freebies. Our freebies include dental chews (we have quite alot left over from oral care month!), hopefully samples from hills, a practice keyring/fridge magnet and we are trying to see what else we can source!

Not sure what you can do about micro chipping im afraid, might be worth contacting bvna or rcvs and asking them?
