awwww i was in the same position a few months ago. had been working with my vet for only a year and she was like a "work mother hen" to me and the other nurses. she was a vet who looked after her nurses, i loved my surgery days all the giggling, gossiping, chit chats, ranting and venting that went on. it made work just that more enjoyable/bareable. of course she had to leave to do other things "as some of us must" but it was so sad to see her go. caught up with her last night and had a girly movie/drink night out at her farm with the other nurses. it is so worth keeping touch, i hope it does get better for you.... its sometimes difficult adjusting to new staff, when you know the ins and outs of how your clinic and staff work. from what you wrote about recieving her card, it would be worth keeping in touch, she sounds like a wonderful vet :)

Ah Flick,it aint always easy to keep in touch but I guess its easier nowadays with mobiles/email etc -heck listen to me sounding like an old git!

Awwww, thanks guys!!!! Im so pathetic when I get upset .

Im feeling a little more level headed today, hahaha!!! I do find it so frustrating that Im totally rubbish at keeping in touch with friends, especially when I have moved away (Im sure mrs Mac/hev you will sympathise with that!!!) - it can be sooo hard!!! I am going to make a super special effort to keep in touch - if there has ever been a time that I need my friends... IT IS NOW!!! Thanks guys for your comments....still feeling abit rotten today but glands definatley not as swollen as they were yesterday!!!

I think your 'sad' post is lovely! That you are going to miss your colleague, and she is going to miss you too.. I think that it is fab when you can forge friendships through work, and I am sure you will stay in touch with her!

I can empathise - to have a really fab, funny, pro-active member of staff leave is tough.

Hope you are feeling better soon too! Get down the quacks if you are no better in a few days.

Aw Flick sorry to hear that. But taking the positive it shows you care and you want the best for her. Its always emotional when a colleague and friend moves away.
