We have an exotics vet working from our practice, she has a lynx registered with her!! she is adorable!! comes in on a lead and harness like a dog & plays with us all in reception!

Recently we nursed a Marabou Stork too, sadly she had to be pts as she was not getting better, she was seriously ill with liver probs it sounds wierd but we got really attached to her as she was so good to nurse, they are stinky & ugly but also wierdly cute & I loved her!!!

Not very exciting but recently had someone turn up on the door OOH with a hedgehog... all very ordinary but no it was the girls pet, an african pygmy hedgehog she had bought from a breeder! Never heard of one before so think I offended her :(

I've worked for the last 5 years with sea turtles in Greece and Costa Rica- here's "Poli Micri" (lit: "Very Little") just after I collected her from the ferry - she had been sent to our hospital in Athens on a ferry from one of the islands and arrived in a shoe box! She was allowed to ride back to the hospital on our laps, on account of her very small cuteness - not something I usually do with the 90kg ones...

My dads friend has 2 pet lemurs (all licensed and above board!)

Absolutely gorgeous animals - really gentle and playful. I had raisins in my hand and they just gently tugged at my fingers - also tried to steal my phone and pee'd on my expensive uggs though!

We had a guy who came into uni as part of our exotics and wildlife module and he bought in loads of different animals for us to hold including a skunk, raccon dog, fox, armadillos and worst of all a tarantula! I HATE spiders but managed to hold it!!!

Tigers in Thailand. I did zoo keeper for the day at Canberra zoo, so Lions, Tigers, a Liger, otters, monkeys, sharks...

Did Sx on a 8kg Lace Monitor, think Komodo Dragon,(tail amputation). Have had kangaroos, wallabies, wombats (burnt in bush fires last year, saved), echidnas, koalas (one was just being xrayed here at the uni), owls, eagles...lots of parrots...

But NEVER a Tarantula, I would DIE!

I fed a Tiger in Loas who had been rescued as a cub from Poachers, her siblings died but she survived. She has her own huge enclosure now and is protected by the Loation government. Tourists that go to visit her are 'encouraged' to bring steak for her dinner!

I was a bit dubious about going as I was imagining her in a small enclosure but she has a small forest to herself. I got to give her my steak!

I've 'cuddled' a shark on my lap and fed it fish which was pretty amazing, also dolphins too which are so well trained!!

I also held a sloth in the amazon - such strange animals! They are lovely though

Fully grown swan. Not that exciting really :o) Would love to go back to Africa and do some nursing out there for a while. There needs to be a top up qualification in just wildlife nursing. Would love that!

We had a client with a marmoset monkey at my first practice...but no-one could get anywhere near it, let alone cuddle it!

haha love these dif animals.

yea the skunk i met originally had 5 little friends but some cruel horrid terrible man decided to descent them himself with a skrewdriver on his kitchen table - needless to say they all died poor things! Lucky little stinky d (the one i met) got rescued last minute by some people in leeds and now has a very happy life it seems.

She was soooooo cute, the mother was sick so the staff were minding her. She would grab your finger and wrap her little hand around it.

when i went to South Africa on a working holiday we worked/handled - rhinos cheetahs loads of dif bugs etc.

if you mean back in this country it would have to be a skunk

also had a chamaeleon climbing in my hair at one point while its viv was being set up, i'm lucky that i get on with the guys in my local reptile shop so often end up holding animals there for one reason or another!!!

I''ve helped with Skunks before and they are lovely! one of our vets had about 3 as pets and her friend bred them. She descented some young ones one evening in the practice and OMG took us about 3 weeks to get rid of the smell!

Also helped with a racoon, Aldabran tortoise (approx 100kg plus) also done a GA on an ostricht! that was interesting gassing it down holding the mask ABOVE my head!
