Daisy, my 6 year old FN lurcher had been out all evening. Noticed when she came in she was shivering/shaking, I offered her the supper anyway and she ate it normally. After a few mins it just subsided. This was after just walking past a farmers field with some unidentified crop in it - dogs may or may not have gone in the field. I advised him to walk in a different place until crop had gone and it never happened again.

Sounds kindof similiar, and with your vet mentioning fertiliser - sounds like there could be some sort of agricultural product to blame...

Re: My own dog - a mystery

indeed, she is now back to normal, thank you! I hope your handsome lurcher is also feeling better! Had another episode this morning - up to get ready for work and Rosie, my 14 year old German Pointer had a sore eye, was runny and she couldnt open it very well........so off to work we go - turns out she has an ulcer, however its only just started so hopefully it will be fine with the eye drops as I am loathe to put her under ga for a 3rd eyelid flap due to her age.

they had no idea, all of his bloods cam back normal. He has no medication other than the diazepam my own vet gave. He had fluids for 24 hours and the tremours just subsided 24-28 hours after starting. They have mentioned intoxication, epilepsy, metabolic etc but nothing conclusive and they didn't want to do MRI as he improved so quickly. So we've to monitor and if it happens again he is off back to the vet school for more invasive testing.

Hope Daisy is feeling better.
