&lt;p&gt;Two of the horses I have known it used on are both now over 30 and in good health (reflecting of the age) with no problems associated with it and good coats! It has been done ever since Jeyes fluid has been around, where I come from at least.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt; I am 32 now and remember seeing it since I was about 8 or 9!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Not sure how it started though... &lt;p&gt;Jeyes fluid is popularly used in stall cleaning and disinfectant for the reduction of Strangles but i&amp;#39;ve never ever ever heard of it being used topically on an animal!!! That yard owner should be reported for animal abuse! It&amp;#39;s highly toxic and carcinogenic.&lt;/p&gt;
