We or rather I am doing our notice board for vn week. No one else seems interested in promoting VNs, so im the one doing it and im not even a vn!

Anyway, ive written a little about our vns and have also written a little about our reception/admin staff and about myself (ana). Im putting pictures on it, well im trying to but not having much success with people letting me take their picture! Ive just been down to work to make a start on the noticeboard but cant do much until i get the pictures . I know ive left it late but we have been so busy i just havnt had time to do it!

Have also photocopied a load of the vn explained leaflets for people to take. i did mean to order some from bvna but photocopies will have to do for now

dont let the fact none of your colleagues are very excited about it put u off, its also microchipping month this month so get onto your supplier and see if you can wangle a deal - we run a tight ship here lol but we'v reduced cost to 11.99 (if we can do that and still make a profit im sure you guys can too )

thats what i was hoping to do to, pics of us monitoring anaesthesia, introducing iv catheter, bandaging etc. i want to put a nurse in recep rather than on recep as well so that people can just ask us questions. also trying to organise some out of practice things i.e in the park and at the local agri show. lots of paperwork though

I like that idea- would hopefully get clients talking and more importantly asking more about what we do. Also your idea of getting clients to met the team is good too.

What is the date fro it again? I have been a tad sidetraked, but want to do something, was thinking of meet the nursing team.... give me a chance to distinguish who is who in the practice was thinking pics of what we do etc, and what the job entails

I'd like to do something. Got the pack from BVNA, and am hoping the bosses will let us put the balloons/posters up (we don't really have a display board). Ideally I'd love to do a display in the local town centre one Saturday, with cheap microchipping (not sure if that is possible), career advice, and just general info on what we actually do!

However, realistically, I don't think it will happen! None of my fellow nurses have mentioned VN week much, and I just don't have the time to arrange anything! The balloons and poster are a distinct possibility though!

We are a very small practice so no time or space to do anything bigger. The notice board will have pictures of us actually doing things in practice, so will be personalised, and have some leaflets to give out too if anyone wants more info.

I tried to organise an open day - but that bombed when we had a spell of nurses leaving the practice - so that was cancelled.

I don't really have the time to organise anything else at the minute - but our clients know we do an excellent job... don't they!?

I really wanted to do something big this year seeing as my last practice couldn't give a crap about vn week but I'm on holiday! Doh! Maybe I'll make it a VN month! hehe

im sure u guys can do better than just a notice board...its about time joe public realised we dont just sit cuddling animals and without us a surgery simply wouldnt run! i rally you all to have at least a whole day promoting our fabulous work - be it silly costumes on reception or selling cakes, offering free drinks etc - we are vetnurses we can do better than a notice board surely ??
