No experience for this at a vets, but my brother set it up for the bike shop he started managing and it worked amazingly well. Different market as it gained people from all over the county as was a specialist shop.

But - potential new clients I would think would come from people's 'friends' they never really talk to - will come up on other people's pages that they have joined your group - may start a discussion if someone looking for a vets/thinking of getting a pet sees it on their wall. Like a broader range word of mouth.

And as someone said above - its free!

With regards to the complaints - I can see how that would be a concern, but if you put a disclaimer on that all complaints will be removed so that they can be dealt with through proper channels then check it regularly I can't see it causing a major problem.

Hi Alana...

I don't know that we will particularly attract new clients with fb, but i'm hoping to use it to inform them about offers and events that we do. Which if they see, even if they aren't relevant to them (ie our puppy/kitten healthcare packages), they might pass the info onto a friend. Even if it's not successful, what have we lost? It costs nothing so worth a go! I'm thinking about doing a 'clients gallery' too, can imagine i'd be popular once people discover it! I've got some ideas of different photo galleries, to show people behind the scenes and what goes on.

We have one for our practice and clients LOVE it.

They always e-mail me to add photos etc. They always comment and love having a 'famous' cat

Can't see anyway to stop them...found photo settings, but only had options for people adding/tagging pics. We're going to check ours daily for any inappropriate posts.

I can stop people posting to the wall but cant find out how to stop comments on photos etc...

I was thinking of doing that too.. might put it forward to my manager.. see what she says ... to those who have it.. do you find alot of clients like it? have you had many new clients because of it?

Yep you're right Jen!

Go to your wall, in top right corner it says 'settings', click on that and you can edit your settings.

should be in the settings when u made the page/group. U can edit the page and i think the option to change who can comment is there somewhere... might be completly wrong though lol

We've chatted about that...but you can stop being commenting on there if you like to stop that problem. Ours is set so people can comment atm, will see how it goes.

I enquired about setting one up for my practice but my manager wasn't keen because there have been practices who have had clients posting abuse and complaints directly on to it which doesn't look very good for the practice.
