Mainly for my own info i want to do further cpd in behaviour/training as it really interests me, but also i want to be able to give the best advice to clients/people

Re: which behaviour/training courses?

I did the Think Cat/Dog when Peter Neville from COAPE did courses with the Animal Care College (they still do equivalent ones). I'd love to do the COAPE diploma but have heard mixed views on it, plus its hugely expensive!

You can do a Foundation degree in dog training and I think behaviour is incorporated into it with Bishop Burton college and this is mainly distance learning.

Re: which behaviour/training courses?

Hey i did the think cat course about 3 years ago and loved it. Decided not to do the diploma due to wanting to try something else and also the price was a factor.

Do you think it would have been different if you had done one of the other COAPE courses which allow you entry onto the diploma rather than the one which combines a bit of each?

I'll get in touch with the kennel club i think and see if they can tell me anything about any possible plans.

Thinkdog.org do correspondance courses which are accredited by the OCN

So, although the course content looks great, and I think it'd be a really good thing to do, i need to decide whether it's definitely the right route to take....hmmm.....

With COAPE l trust Jenny T of here who has it but after talking to someone doing the southhampton uni one it is the only acredited APBT one l would never put a COAPE trainer forward to help unless l knew their history.
I'm not sure how much they would fund....i'd have to approach them, with a "this'll be good for the business" plan. We get a £500 cpd budget per year but they'll pay out more if it benefits the practice.

The dipolma is 4k , id love to do it, but i cant spare any of my own pennies at the moment im seriously broke, and cant justify paying for anything further qualifications until 100years time when i've possibly paid back my student loan from my VN degree! lol

have you looked into bursaries????

the BVNA offer a whole host of them
