The website says you can combine the two, does this mean that effectively you do the diploma and then "top-up" to gain your degree aswel?? I'm confused!
Thanks Alot

Re: DipAVN and BSc combined Harper Adams

[quote user="Jen Clarke"]

Beth, thank you for your response,

I see what you mean re: working and following actual cases in practice, therefore I'm sure the core modules are the most suitable for transferring. I would expect to have to complete the specialist modules but it just seemed a little repeatative to have to complete some of the modules I have previously completed. I will probably want to persue this further, is it better to contact the univeristy directly?

Hi Jen,

No problem, glad to be of help! Yep, that's probably best. You will then be dealing with the course managers who will be able to discuss credits and levels etc with you.

If you have already gained a Bsc(hons) but wish to study for the diploma, is it possible to transfer some of the modules acheived as part of the degree? Its just I have had a look at some of the modules and there are duplicates with some of the ones we studied throughout the degree.

It may be possible to APL some credits however I think however these might be quite limited depending on the modules that are duplicated.

The RCVS diploma requirements are that you have to be working in practice for a certain period of hours while studying the module. Also some of the written assessment is based on nursing real time cases. So I don't think these modules would be eligable for APL.

These are mainly the specilist options such as Anaesthesia, Surgical, Medical and Diagnostic imaging.

The core units would be the easiest ones to APL, but if they have been previously studies we would have to check the levels.

I'm starting in Septmeber so feel free to let me know if any more questions and will do my best to answer.
