YES! You and the pigeons!!! lol!!!!

They got a vet in, she is due to leave this month, they are doing like 12month placements or something. They are advertising for another at the moment. As far as I am aware they want someone with a few years experience.

I have been away for three and a half years so I am SOOOO looking forward to getting stuck back in there!!

I volunteered there from the age of 16 for 2 and a half years and I then when back for a month in my final year of uni to do some nursing as I did a wildlife and exotic module. It's only 5 mins up the road from me.

I loved my time there and learnt loads and it's what really pushed me to be a VN.

I also discovered I have a real love for pigeons

Did you work there? I would love to work with wildlife but I worry that I would miss the affection you get from dogs and cats. You dont really get to snuggle with wild animals!

It's been two years since I've been there and then there was only a vet in once a week. Things might have changed since then though. I do miss the wildlife!

I heard recently that they have employed a vet to be there full time. I might be wrong but think I remeber someone saying it was a new grad (cheap) in order to cover themselves for the nurses carried out Sch 3 procedures.

The majority of it is stitch ups to be honest. And thats easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy. We have allowances, but as i havent been there in so long i can't remember the ins and outs.

I'd be a bit worried about doing schedule 3 procedures at tiggys as a RVN as you are often doing it without a vet there. I don't really know about the law regarding wildlife. Is it the same as domestic animals?

Don't get me wrong, tiggys do an amazing job but it's been hammered in to me what I'm allowed to do as an RVN and so I'd be a bit wary about not following this.

Yes, a LOT!!! They do occasionally yes, but I'm not that sure how you go about it. In fact I THINK they may be advertising for a qualified soon too.

I've heard that you get to do alot of Sch 3 work there, is that true? I emailed them recently and asked if I could shadow a VN for a few days but I just got a generic response saying I could come and clean out the animals! I dont suppose you know if they ever do more involved work experence for RVN's?
