If that was me, i'd have phoned them not wait 10mins!!!

Our doorbell is linked to the phone system via an intercom outside, they press the button, the practice phones ring but sound different to the normal ringing tones, so we know its the doorbell ringing, we pick up the phone and answer, they speak thru intercom outside and we then go and let them in. I like it cos i feel its safer as well, rather than going directly to the front door to the person ringing, especially if your not expecting anyone to be arriving.

The comments seem positive enough, a few comments praising vetsnow as such for own experiences

stupid woman why on earth did she not ring after a few attempts.....?! Grrr...

It's nice to read on the comments of the article that people are not all siding with the owner, and saying they've received good service from VetsNow. It must have been upsetting for the owner, but if i were her i'd have phoned, it's just common sense! They could have been dealing with another emergency for all she knew.

very sad and obviously the bell was inadequate but why the hell did the owner wait 10mins before she called them? surely if you ring the bell a couple of times and bang on the door with no response, you'd phone to say you were outside?

I know when i've been in practice waiting of OOH to arrive if you're not at the door within 10 seconds they ring you to say they're outside

Definately. Its always hard when you don't know both sides of the story but, I feel sorry for both the dog owner and the practice staff here.

In my old practice you couldn't hear people at the front door simply because the building was so big. We told people to call us again when they were outside and we'd come let them in. If my dog was that sick and no one was answering I'd be on the phone straight away!
