I was raised methodist but attended the c of e school as there werent any places for my bro at the methodist one. we had a muslim girl from malaysia join us and it gave us more knowledge of other faiths

when it came to secondary school we were technically c of e as that was the church we attended at xmas/easter, however we had a huge mix of faiths there, we had jew, catholic, c of e, muslim, jehovah's witness, and many more!!!

Re: Religion!

Love it! Prejudice by bus!

In London church schools are usually the best free education you can get, so most people will happily change religion to get a free education!

My friends are a seikh/c of e(non-practising) couple. Their children go to a catholic school. . .

However Jewish schools are common here in North London, and there are campaigns to build another one in my area as Jewish children here have to travel quite far if they wish to attend a Jewish school, so single religion schools still hold on.

There has also been closures of several "illegal" Muslim schools that have been working out of peoples houses without being registered.

Re: Religion!

most schools aren't religious these days coz it can seem discriminatory.

my primary school was church of england but a muslim family lived next door so their children came. the school respected their religious festivals such as ramadam etc and the family respected that their children would be expected to take part in assembly's, RE lessons and christmas carol concerts.

I started my catholic secondary school in the mid 90's. To be acctepted you had to have a form signed by the head minister, priest, vicar of your church to say u went to church regularly (my family was c of e). when it came to who was able to get a bus service it was provided in order:

-catholics living greater than 2.5 miles from the school

-non catholics living greater than 2.5 miles

- catholics living less thn 2.5 miles from the school

and the final few places went to non catholics living less than 2.5m on a first come first serve basis

i lived 2 miles away and none of the buses went near my house so my mum had to drive me
