Do any of you sell these or have made your own? Am in the process of trying to work out what should go in one to enable us to sell our own ones and just wondering what is the most important.
So far was thinking

They really should think about those of us with latex allergies and put vinyl gloves in like my hair dye kit has - there are more and more of us about nowadays and it'd be kind of ironic if they saved their pet's life and ended up in anaphylactic shock themselves!!!

Seriously, you should be extra careful as that's how my allergy started. It gradually got a little worse each time with the odd lumpy bumpy bit around my wrist and then started giving me sore throats and then one day I got the full blown experience and am now allergic to balloons and other things as well. It's a nightmare when you go to the dr's/dentist/hospital watching them running around trying to find their one box of latex-free and then having to remain with-it enough to remind anyone else who comes near you during your visit (eg when you've only been awake from a GA for 10mins and the nurse comes to check your drip and forgets again, despite the bloody big sign over the bed!)

Re: Pet first aid kits

what about scissors? Not viable of course if you are making these to sell for the practice, but a pet first aid kit I bought many years ago had a pair of small scissors in it!

Re: Pet first aid kits

I have the pets at home one as mentioned above- they sell a pet first aid book seperately but I think the two sold together would be better!

Re: Pet first aid kits

[quote user="Dippy"]

If you were going to do a basic handout to go in it, you could also include things like wasp/bee sting advice, not pulling fishing hooks out themselves and anything else common you can think of.

It's a cracking idea actually - might mention it at work myself! Most of the vets in Cyprus offer them but theirs are more to do with anti snake venom and anti poisoning things eg emetics. At least we don't regularly have to contend with those kind of emergencies!

Re: Pet first aid kits

Forgot !!
