One of our clients helps out with St Bernard rescue and we had 'Ruby' in as she was pyrexic.
The only St Bernard i've ever met was at my last practice, but it wasn't a nice situation She was a year old and had been (as far as owners were aware) in perfectly good health, they'd given her breakfast, she'd gone into garden then came back into kitchen and collapsed and died I felt so sorry for the owners, it must have been such a huge shock. We didn't find out what the prob was, owners didn't want investigations.

It makes me think, would i want a pm on my own animal in this kind of situation. If i didn't then i might be wondering for ever more what the problem was. But then i also think i wouldn't want them mucked around with once they've passed away. And you can't do anything about it anyway, whatever the problem was.

Sorry to change the post Looblou, it just got me thinking...
