WOWZERS!!! £250 not bad going, I did another car boot on Sunday and made £50 lol, oh yeah and a fight broke out on my stall HAHAHA!! It was hilarious, there where 2 dealers fighting over old costume jewellery and it kicked off!!

I think it depends what area you live as with most things - I think charges vary from £5-£12 per visit. Take into account how many cats they have, if you would be changing litter trays if they don't go outside, medicating, and how much time their owner would want you spend with them etc

I have been nosey (research) on some petsitting websites and some charge far too much in my opinion but they seem to be busy!

The insurance isn't too bad - I think I pay something like £60 for 12months cover, and this is for key recovery, lost dog, 3rd party liability etc, etc - you should look into it. Cliftons specialise in pet sitting/dog walking etc - give them a go! I am such a worrier I could never do what I do with insurance!

Also I get owners to sign disclaimer to say that I wouldn't be held responsible should anything happen to their pet whilst in my care.

Hey Louise, Kleeneze...you get out what you put in, plus you have to buy the brochures etc so that eats into everything.

I used to do it but with working full time it worked out a nightmare as you have to go out and drop off the brochures, then go out a few days later to pick up then you go out again to drop off their good and thats all supposing they are a) there for you to collect the brochure and there for you to drop the goods off.

Plus they designate you an area so it may not be your street/surrounding streets, when i did it I was a couple of miles away from my place doing it so couldnt just nip out and pick up the remaining brochures etc

bit like avon really!

Also look at what old things you have in the house, I had 6 boxes of pottery etc from a house clearance I did a few years back. I looked through it all last weekend (the boxes have been sat out in the garden for the last 5 years) and I've discoveres there where antiquities hidden in there!! i used to cat sit. they were all clients who rang the practice to ask 4 someone to cat sit. the first one was a 21yr old diabetic who offered me £20/day for 2 weeks!!! stayed in their house with full sky + package. the othe main one was 4 cats but i was mainly there for one on chemo treatment.
