Thats to do with the original allergic response, which in many circumstances can be insignificant, but a secondary can cause an increased immune response.

My hubby is also allergic, but it was a wood wasp that stung him, when he got his initial response.... he had been stung many times before.

His body basically took 6 months to rid itself, there was no anaphylaxis thankfully it started with his big toe of all things swelling, even though it was his arm that was stung, it then took 6 months to travel all over the right side of his body, his leg and arm and hand swelled, all at different times, and he could not walk for 4 months, his leg was so swollen!

He got intermittent reactions for about 5 yrs afterwards too. He was referred to a blood specialist evetually who gave us the diagnosis.

Unfortunately my dogs have a fascination with them too, thankfully none have caught any so far.

Now wasps.....I run for the hills when I see them, and have encountered 2 already this yr. 1 was in my bedroom a good few weeks back I had just come off night shift, and was going to bed when I heard it! and the other was in the garden yesterday.

One of my dogs who is sadly gone now was forever getting stung by wasps, her chin was forever out in big bleeding pustules.......... she never learned!

Re: Bumble Bees

[quote user="Saskia Paula Quinn"]
