Been hand-rearing a collared dove, is now flapping and really needs to go out. Put him in the tree outside only to get my neighbour to come over and tell me that it is 'cruel' and he is flapping

Re: URGH.

I prewarned them I was doing it, within 5 minutes of that they had let their dog out. He is pretty much ready to go, he can fly - he was even up a bloody tree! It was the fact he was so convinced that he knew best, so frustrating.

its even worse when your family wont listen to you and still think they know best. i didnt spend 4years at uni and to work full time all these years to be ignored. grrrrr

[/quote]

My family are the same. In fact, I don't think anyone really believes I know a thing. Good to know really.

Re: URGH.

its even worse when your family wont listen to you and still think they know best. i didnt spend 4years at uni and to work full time all these years to be ignored. grrrrr

Re: URGH.

hi, have you tried a timeshare? arrange a time when he is not letting his dog out and you can happily let out the dove? If not then i am not sure what to suggest and after writing this probably feel i should have kept my gob shut lol. Any way, it is annoying when members of the public no matter how well meaning or not in your case don't understand that there may be just maybe a slight chance that your years of training have taught you something. Anyhoo, hope all works out, hopefully there is a local animal sanctuary that may take him on and rehabilitate him? the dove not the neighbour. Take care Carrie
