She really enjoyed it. The dogs went to hospitals especially the elderly long term ward. People there looked forward to their visits each week. She used to keep a diary of who she meet and what happened, and checked and noted anyone who did not like or was frightened of dogs or did not want to be visited. As well as peoples reactions over time , I remember her telling me of an elderly blind lady who started talking to the nurses after mum and Billy started visiting. She really enjoyed it and so did Billy and Katey. They loved notheing more than being the centre of attention!!

When I worked for the rescue centre some of the nice natured dogs (usually the greyhounds) used to visit care homes, not as PAT dogs but as a similar local scheme. It's really worthwhile and usually the people appreciate having a dog to pay attention to for a couple of hours.

Have fun!
