We are currently with NVS but I think they must have reduced their stock as things often come out as out of stock , then are delivered 2-3 days later. A little annoying when you have a client waiting for them. Being a small practice it is nice to have next day deliveries Also have been having other probs with them lately and considering changing suppliers. Does anybody have good things to say about other companies?

we used to use NVS but our driver was a complete nightmare quite a few days our delivery was left by our front door as he had arrived early and wouldnt wait for the staff to arrive!!!! we have since changed to dunlops and they are great the drivers and all the staff are lovely and cant do enough to help. with regard to returning fridge items we have been able to do it but had to arrange a courier to return them we couldnt send them back via the driver like we would do for other goods.

is it Cliff? he is such a lovely guy, if it is say hi from me, carrie at what used to be beatons. We use Dunlops, we have an online ordering service that is really good, i like it, and as i am the one who orders its all good for me. Hope this helps. they are helpful, Kirsty is in charge of our account and she is great.

NVS will accept fridge items as returns if a vet signs a form to say they have been stored correctly. Probably not a big deal for a SA practice, but we order lots of expensive vaccs in for specific farmers, and if we make a mistake its good to know we can send it back!

Re: the client who has ordered something in and then decided they don't want it - we had this too and NVS wouldn't take it back coz of the sticker, but I remember coming across an item (can't remember what) in the store room with a sticker on from a vets over 100 miles away!

Dunlops staff on the phone are great! The drivers are too, usually the order is delivered when the cleaner is in, if she is off he just comes back later when we are all there and no grumbles. Only thing that bugs me if when wanting to send unwanted stock back that clients have decided they done want, by this point it has had a sticker on so they dont accept it but I suppose thats same for all companies. Always helpful on the phone when trying to find something!

Thanks for that Juliet - and thanks for reminding me that I haven't seen a 'cube' in ages. I also didn't know that they did a practice plan scheme as we are looking into that as well.... so much to investigate

see your rep, or look into the latest cube, saves the practice money of each card transaction.

we also use their practice plan scheme- loyalty scheme for clients, it has worked quite well.

I have been involved in a change at a previous practise from NVS to Centaur and it was horrible (not least for the computer issues you mention here) and we went back to NVS asap!!! hence a bit nervous of a change again and making sure we get it right as it is a huge upheaval. We too use NVS for boc gases but what are the streamline fees you mention ??

We use Dunlops and they are lovely! Very friendly/ helpful/ phone re stuff OOS/to follow etc and they humour us well with our silly questions as and when needed. Drivers are always friendly and our rep Andy is always great.

Use Dunlops and they are great, very friendly and always ring about to follows etc. NVS werent interested in us when we first set up as wouldnt have been doing enoug money to make us worthwhile to them so as far as we are concerned we're not interested in them now!

we used to use centaur, had loads of problems with them. not familiar with dunlops. but we use nvs. they are a large company, with lots of perks, and we have always had great service from them. through them, we save on streamline fees, boc gases, have a great discount scheme, and enjoy other discounts from their umbrella of companies.

We have a great Dunlops driver too!!! (although slightly grumpy if you send returns on a Friday!) We use Dunlops exclusively, but at times I wish we had another account for out of stock items. If possible keep the NVS account to use for that!! When we phone with a query, the staff are great and always go out of their way to help. Most of the know our account number better than me - I just phone & say "Its Fiona from A+G" and they say "oh yes account ......." If you're in Scotland, the rep is Scott & he is very nice too!
