So bizarre...volcanic ash from a volcanic eruption in Iceland.
would tend to agree with you - rail system in most of europe is a lot better than we could even dream of in this country, same with bus service in many places. it might take a bit of ingenuity but it is possible.

Air Crash Investigations uses the 0.1% of crashes

If all engines fail, the likely hood of survival is high. Modern planes are designed to glide with no power.

I saw somewhere that a child is waiting for an organ thats due over from the usa but obviously they cant get it over here at the moment. suppose that puts it into perspective really

Re: Volcanic Ash

Would they not have some sort of insurance to cover this sort of thing?

Re: Volcanic Ash
I think that people should get their money back tho, no extra just what they have paid. i know if my holiday is cancelled i want my money back. ive worked too bloomin hard to pay for this holiday and if i cant go then that £800 of my money should be given back. i know its not the airlines fault but people should be given their money back, they have paid for something that they havnt had.

- agreed, an lets face it, the airlines are not spending out on fuel or wages at the moment are they - so money saved could go towards customers compo IMO. I'm due to go to portugal on july for my sisters hen weekend, and I'd be gutted too after all the hard work of saving - but, i'd rather be living than dead!! lol..
i wonder if they're not paying staff actually? after all it's not their fault if they can't work because of this...tricky one isn't it

People are getting a full refund on their flights not too sure about holidays tho i don't disagree there, its not youir fault or the companys

Steph, the flights arent flying doesnt mean money saved as every flight that don't fly loses them money, and some airlines are rpedicted to go bust if this continues. Think how many people have not to got their flight, the comp would be too great to be fair!

I believe that staff are sent home but with pay but who knows, nobodys fault except the volcanos lol!!
