I'm reading 'a hopeless romantic' by Harriet Evans, I quite like it so far. I am almost half way through it now.

Has anyone read any of her books? I never heard of her before, I just happened to see the book in my library. Not really one to read if you are recently seperated from your boyfriend/husband/partner though

I like Shaun Hutson, Stephen King, Dan Brown and Kathy Reich books.

nope i think she just gets carried away with describing the fields and making spears and stuff

Freckle part of the problem with Jean Auel is she had a major stroke and took several years to recover. But l hope we get a new one soon l was thinking of ringing the publisher to ask.

I was hooked with that series as well! Have also read other series by Virgina Andrews, but i think the flowers series was the best!

its fantstic isnt it? more than that though, i love getting hooked on a series of books - when you know theres lots more to come!!

(unless its earths children of course, which just causes frustration that she takes sooooooooo long to write the next installment! )

isnt it just such an amazing feeling when you get 'hooked' on a book that you absolutely cannot set it aside.

I love getting into a good book, need to do it more often though

Oh no you guys are giving me more ideas of books i want to read now and already have LOADS and not much chance to read them!

I like Dan Brown, have read Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons and Digital Fortress. Maybe i'll ask for the rest of his for christmas!

Blood, sweat and tea looks good, maybe that will go on my list too!

another good read is Blood, Sweat and Tea, its all about real life on the front line of being a paramedic. Its all true and the book was inspired by Tom's blogging online. Very sad, true accounts but also contrastingly hilarious too... you think we have it bad!

yes he's the guy who wrote the Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons (I've not read them but seen the films) I've read the lost symbol and am now on the hunt for the 2 previous books GAH! Totally gripping can't wait for them to make the film of the thrd book heeeeeeeee

My sister is reading that at the moment and is really enjoying it so far. I've never read any of Dan Browns books before so will have to read it afterwards!

I use the mobile library that is great for me then l found one of the sub library's other side of town good parking great books. I do not use the main library as parking is awful and they do not have good books.

And now even better we can use our library card all round the country.

Errmm new dan brown.. oh great more no nights sleep once l track that one down.

I'm more of a biography girl myself, however, I've just been reading the new Dan Brown book 'The lost symbol'

Was given the full 11 books to read in the trueblood series by charlaine harris, l love them. Started them yesterday when l got home from work and am on book 4.

I have also got 8 library books to get read they need to be back in the next week or so.

My whole life is messed up at the moment with reading l dont have a life

S-J I live in Northern Ireland and our wonderful merial rep is treating us to this also!!

I have read the book so I absolutely cant wait to see the film!

Isnt it just wonderful to be recognised and rewarded for our efforts occassionally!!!! We are so lucky to be having such a lovely treat!! I guess it will be tissues at the ready during the film though!

got a call from one of the nurses today, apparently the frontline rep is going to treat us to food, goodies, cpd and watchin marley and me, which is really strange cos i had never heard about it till u guys mentioned it and now i have just seen a trailer for it with mathew mcconahey (sp?).

is someone trying to tell me something

Also devoured 'Marley & Me' in a day lol! Very good read, and really sad at the end Thanks for the heads up on the tissue situation...

I'm with the Patricia Cornwell fans, and along the same lines - Tess Gerritsen, Karin Slaughter, James Patterson.

S-J mentioned Terry Goodkind earlier - the Sword of thruth series, I discovered this recently and am now hooked, currently on book 4, with a long way to go.

If you like that type of book then Trudi Canavan - Black Magician Trilogy is really good, as is The Seer King by Chris Bunch.

Also His Dark Materials trilogy - Philip Pullman, which has been mentioned before.

Another Trudi Canavan series is The age of the Five which I have, but haven't read yet.

I am reading 'The Museum of Unconditional Surrender ' (Dubravka Ugresic) at the moment. Its a series of short stories and essays on among other things the break up of Yugoslavia. Some of it is a bit heavy going but on the whole a brilliant book

I like Sven Hassel books. They are on WW2 a german unit. Very raw. It shows the horror of war there is no sweetness or love in them but a very good set of books. Shows the war from the germas side the unit are all given a choice fight or prison/die. So they take their chances. There is the sick humour amongst death and destruction.
