My student had a great first aid case in but unfortunately at our branch surgery that is not a TP. It was a de-gloving injury, and was haemorrhaging. She helped the vet clean the wound and then bandage before it

Re: First aid - portfolio

Surely if you do a professional discussion or something, backed up with supplemental evidence of a witness statement from the vet, that should be more than sufficient?

I am obviously not an assessor, but as a student, I would think & hope that that would be ok!

I have always run evidence I'm not sure of past my IV - they are excellent, and can tell me in a quick phone call whether the evidence in question is ok or not

Re: First aid - portfolio

Hi Laura,

With a simulation performed I would have no problem using it for one of my students, you are doing the simulation and then as you say back up evidence from a vet that has witnessed student performing the actual task (sadly at the branch clinic).

All the best
