one of my old bosses was helping lift a rather large dog in kennels. nad he was trying to be proper "bend your knee not your back" next minute there was a ripping sound as his scrub trousers ripped hahahahahaha

My former HVN was recently pregnant and she'd just started to get a sizeable bump but was still in her greens. An SVN had got herself into a weird spread leg position to try a view an awkward vein when HVN walked in and said "careful you don't split your trousers doing that!" SVN could not find vein so passed to HVN, who, being with bump had to arrange herself into position. Just as she bent down....RRRRRIIIIIIIPPPPP!

HAHA I've done that too. Not nursing though, I was sitting on reception floor (whilst waiting room empty I'll add) and me and another nurse were seeing how flexible we were by crossing our legs and seeing if we could make our knees touch the floor (this makes no senselol) and my pants ripped

Haha oh dear!

Saying that I did have the bum of my trousers go whilst I was a student on placement! Had to try and cover it up for the rest of the day! hehe

I accidentally got my SVN tunic caught on the reception desk latch and ripped it entirely open whilst in a hurry. MORTIFIED is an understatement.

The vet and client in the room had a good laugh at my expense !

I had poppers on my SVN uniform and can't say I ever found them a problem. My old housemate did have a fairly amusing video of me unpopping my tunic in a mad moment lol

I would have said zips were good until my GG experience - at least with poppers or buttons you can rescue some of your dignity!

We have zipped tunics and dresses...i agree, much better than poppers! My old practice i had poppers and was a pain in the bum!

i just find it annoying that no matter what size you are your size doesn't exist. My HVN and I measured me for my new QVN green tunic and according to the back page of the Alexandra catalogue, I need 1 size for my bust, a different size for my waist and another size for my hips. And why can't they do trousers of different lengths? I've got to take mine up by about a foot.

I currently have Graham Gardner green 'combat' style trousers with pockets on the legs (very useful) and elasticated waist (no worries about poppers/buttons pinging off when wrestling and the trousers falling down) and I love them. Expensive but comfy and practical. I've had my 2 pairs since 2007 and still going strong!

i don't like poppers i used to wear uniform with poppers only would always get caught either on tables or dogs paws and pop my top open! Inevitable the nurses I used to work with would also 'pop' open my tops!!! shame on you!!!

I used to wear dresses ( with a zip...much more practical than buttons/poppers!) years ago, untill I saw sense!

Can't say I've ever worn a dress at work. Would find it majorly impractical and I don't think they would suit me at all!

I remember one of my old head nurses having to scramble up onto a kennel after an escaped kitty! (in her dress) boss walked in the cattery and asked her what she was up to? "i'm trying stop from you getting sued if this cat gets loose, you gonna help out?"

"nah your ok, I'm enjoy the view from here!!!!"

Stupid farm animal vet!
