'Processing Materials' Does that relate to X-Ray chemicals?
I hope not cause we have a digital processor

I had a look at the PC's for this scope.

PC 2 is obtain guidence on the most suitable diagnostic imaging equipment and materials from the Vet surgeon.

All i would say is ask a vet if the equipment you are about to get out is correct and that they are correct for the processor you have.

Write that you checked ................. with the VS.

That should be fine, see what your assessor says.

Re: L3 Portfolio - 8.1 (Diagnostic Imaging)
No its not in bold, it says in the scope:

Prepare the following materials:

film

processing materials

contrast materials

I prefer theory + practical exams than this madness!

x
Yes they will be the chemicals then. Just do a transfere of skill.

The PC's that covers the scope: film and contrast mataterials you can cover, so do those.

For that bit of scope the assessor should ask you questions of 'how to do.....' with that scope, then if they are satisfied that that you can be competent at the PC and the scope then they can write a statement to that effect. This can be added to a piece of evidence (case log). If you still have an old processor about if you can use it as simulation it would help?

Proffessional discussion is the other way.

Or not sure about this one? Does your college have a processor, could a practical test be set up there? Witness testimony then?

Sorry i can't be more specific i done have the standards with me.

Hope these help.

Re: L3 Portfolio - 8.1 (Diagnostic Imaging)

No its not in bold, it says in the scope:

If memory is correct, can't say it is but think it says: chemicals, plates and films, might even be positioning materials. Don't have my criteria at home soz.

Also talk about quality of radiography (use this word instead of xray) produced ie over/under exposed, over/under developed. commenting on marks on the films too.

Re: L3 Portfolio - 8.1 (Diagnostic Imaging)
Also just adding this Level 3 8.1 check the quality of the xray and confirm the animal-is that simply looking at the xray and going 'yep thats the animal i xray'd' casue that seems a bit obvious to me. of course im probably just ebign stupid and it means something else!
For the quality bit you could add you reasoning if you think there is some error, i.e collimation, and also that you added labelling to confirm the correct animal.

Do you ever radiograph sedated animals? If so, you wouldn't use ties in case of movement so that would minimise discomfort. Likewise if you were xraying an old arthritic patient, you wouldn't be overextending limbs and would be careful when positioning for the same reason. Discomfort for this section can also mean when the animal recovers from GA/sedation.

Re: L3 Portfolio - 8.1 (Diagnostic Imaging)
