For the diets I agree its probably not as transferable as such, but its a good refresher for why certain conditions need alterations in various things in their diet so I suppose you could transfer it that way.

A lot of the course is more about setting up different clinics (and they have some great speakers to do these), promoting these and the practice and building confidence etc. You get a case with all the items you need to build your clnics up, books etc and you get a lot of support afterwards. Plus its a good way of building your CPD hours!

Re: rcw pet health counsellor

I've done the Royal Canin course and i found it really good. I'm not sure that its transferable to other foods, but it is really good for setting up clinics. They go through marketing of clinics and ideas for new ones etc.

Re: rcw pet health counsellor

i worked my way through the hills VNA course - only for the practice to chuck hills to the cirb!

so we went to royal canin first and purina second... purina do a free course, so i done that - its a really good course (the purina one)... i looked into the royal canin and the practice didn't think it would be worth it... it's done over a 2 day training scheme... and seems to be a lot of money, for what they are actually teaching?! i thought anyways!

both the hills and purina courses i found are more or less transferrable, they both discuss the properties of there foods, free radicals etc etc blah blah blah and about the packaging blah blah. when it got down to the prescription foods and how they works that where things started to differ...

purinas food is made differently too... it's 100% fresh meat as ingredient one and eggs for protein etc etc...

there are loads of nutrition course, i guess its just finding the right one for you and your practice.

good luck xx
