My boss cat sleeps on my chest (unless I turf her off, as I am apt to do several times in a night... she is a bit of a lump!) and if she knows I'm awake, whatever the time, she slaps her paw on my face a bit until I respond. If I wake up but am not ready to move, I have to play possum and try not to alert her or she starts up!

One of my others pokes me, literally pokes me with a claw out so it's irritating but not painful or aggressive, when she wants something and is being ignored. How she sussed that having a sharp bit out was the way to do it, I have no idea!

tiddles often wakes me up by tapping my face (espec my eyes!) with his paws. if i yawn and he's near my head he'll go wide eyed in amazement and stick his paw in my mouth! does it all the time and he's about 13

my older cat onion sleeps inbetween my husband & me!!!! It is quite unnerving to wake up staring at a snoring cat!! Love it though.

as soon as morris knows i am awake in the morning (which is often before i have realised it for myself) he jumps up and balances on the headboard and starts patting my face and he isnt too subtle about it! its kind of scarey to open your eyes and see this bloody big cat staring right into your face!

if I take too long to respond he will then slip under the duvet and start licking either arms or legs until i give in.

once he has been fed he wont bother with me till the next meal is due

Niamh does this! But she also gives me shoulder cuddles and insists upon following me everywhere so just put this down to her oddness!
