&lt;p&gt;but many companies hold ex directory numbers even though they aren&amp;#39;t meant to, and sometimes a search on the net by the name or the address can bring a result.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;other than that if it&amp;#39;s a personal number then trying friends of friends might help, or if it&amp;#39;s someone say who might use the same vet etc, you can leave your details with them and ask if they can pass them on to the person, then hope they ring you. Or leave messages on websites that they might use.&lt;/p&gt;
