Go to eBay for your diff quik alternatives, we get 3 big bottles for about £12. exactly same quality of stains on the slides.

I know what you mean, just can't remember the name of it! Safavet sell sedistain though, think it works out about £10-15 cheaper than the standard suppliers if thats any use?

I think the timing bit comes from the diffquik instructions (in fact almost sure it does) and think that 'dips' comes from the rapidiff instructions

5 dips in first pot , 5 dips in second pot, 5 dips in last pot and tap water is fine ( in a rinse bottle) for rinse. air dry prior to viewing

I was told at a lab tap water was fine and have never had a problem with it (distilled water is used because it is less likely to get 'green bits' growing in it when water is left in a flush bottle too long - the answer to that is make sure your flush bottle is rinsed and refilled regularly). Obviously if a stain requires buffered water then I would use buffered water

I was taught 5 dips in each followed by rinsing with distilled water and air dried before examination

I've just ordered some more rapi-diff- NVS only keep A in stock as it evaporates, the other 2 are special orders and take 7-10 days to arrive.

Use Rapi Diff as well, have used it for years and always worked well.

i used to use rapi diff - because it was just a little bit cheaper
