whilst on the subject of stains can anybody give me the name of the cheaper alternative to sedistain? cant for the life of me remember I know i used to order it through labpak but beyond that my mind is a blank - is a fraction of the cost of sedistain

I know what you mean, just can't remember the name of it! Safavet sell sedistain though, think it works out about £10-15 cheaper than the standard suppliers if thats any use?

I was told at a lab tap water was fine and have never had a problem with it (distilled water is used because it is less likely to get 'green bits' growing in it when water is left in a flush bottle too long - the answer to that is make sure your flush bottle is rinsed and refilled regularly). Obviously if a stain requires buffered water then I would use buffered water

Re: diff quick

[quote user="laura"]

What do people do regarding timing?

I was taught to dip 5 x in A, 5x in B and 7 x in C then rinse with distilled water, My other nurse was taught to time it
