Yes the really sick thing is that this Man is a teacher who has been working in a Coventry school teaching my friends daughter and it was all unknown because this man abused this child around four years ago i think and it has been kept a secret for four years because the parents of the abused accepted that money and as a consequence this man was able to continue teaching!

Looking back, various clues were there - but at the time you don't even imagine it could be happening. Her Dad was put away for a very long time, but is out now. I doubt he poses a risk to anyone other than his own children, but if he was local to me I'd certainly want to know where he is. By your actions, you are making it far more likely he would be an unknown in the comunity.

What I'm saying is that my parents were excellent parents - but I still slept in a house with a paedophile many many times. I was never harmed. But that is more luck than anything else. You CANNOT keep your children safe unless you have them with you 100% of the time. All we can do is register these people and monitor them. Moving them around the country everytime the community decides they don't want them there will not help.

I dont think I am being naive. As I said before, I ALWAYS know where my children are, if I didnt trust the school to look after them while in their care - then I wouldnt have them at the school. My parents gave me a great upbringing and were excellent parents and excellent role models - they are now the same for my children.

In terms of sexual crimes equally likely to happen in the rural community as well as the city - I appreciate that is true, yes. But NOT by a stranger moving into the area, that may happen in a city, but less likely in a rural setting - less inhabitants, a newcomer would be known rightaway to be a stranger and locals would be weary of him/her - not in a city as who would notice?

I think this subject has had enough mileage now - either support it or dont support it but leave it at that - it shouldnt be a case of who can shout the loudest for the longest but this is what has happened. there have been some good points made and equally there have been some not so good ones. its beginning to sound like a playground scrap!

I signed, I understand completely why you are doing this and would do absolutely the same thing if it was me in your situation.
It's not about hounding him out of his home, it's about moving him so he doesn't live where he can see a primary school everytime he looks out of his window!!
I understand there will always be an element of 'temptation', be that kids walking past or living near a bus stop and seeing kids but is living right in front of a primary school really appropriate?!

I don't understand this country's desire to protect those that harm others and punish those that stand up for what is right.

let them move to my area if they like, but like Steph. I would find out and yes I would hound then out for sure!!! I hve bitter experience in this type of thing, where my hubby went to jail for defending my son who was beaten within an inch of his life! with no one that would stand up for him because they were scared of what would happen to them if they said something! Cowards imo! so no one can tell me what they would do in these circumstances untill they happen!

Exactly what I was trying to say.. this behaviour is not normal regardless of what they do, there is a sickness there,one I am afraid that cannot be fixed. I agree that most are pleasent individuals, who are caring etc..... but lets face it, that is how they groom! whether they are grooming kids or practicing on adults... read the papers.. when they are caught, you will see a host of people saying how great they were and how they could not believe it.. these people are living a constant lie.. and whether they are raping or fantasising about the act..... , again it's just a prelude in my opinion.

Which is passing the problem around and putting other peoples children in danger which really helps nobody. This man is known so him staying in the area is a safer option than him moving elsewhere... if you look at the wider picture that is.

But protect your own thats fair enough but what if he moves to ur are paula or urs scotlass? You wouldnt know and your kids would be in danger!

thats where I am luckier than some I guess as I live in a very small rural community where everyone knows everyone else. A stranger would be almost 'vetted' so to speak. My kids wouldnt be in danger as when they are in school, I know exactly where they are and I trust the school to protect them. I always know where my children are and what they are doing - they are still very young. It is my duty to look after them.

Its not necessarily passing the problem round though, as this person could be moved to somewhere which isnt near a primary school/playground etc, regardless of the amount of radius mileage, it is possible to be relocated somewhere where he wont be near children, therefore wont present a danger to children and wont be tempted on a daily basis as he would be if he were to remain opposite a primary school.
