He liked me from the start, but took me a while to realise!

In the beginning, I only agreed to go out with him because I knew he was going to uni in a couple of months so I had an easy 'get out' (not ideal I know!). But, in July it'll be 6 years, and has been long distance (2 hours) for the majority of that due to him then me being away at uni. Things are better than ever and I can't wait for the summer when I leave uni and we will FINALLY be moving in together! :-)

I think if you are both mature about it, be honest about being scared of losing him as a friend and take it slowly so that it will be easier to go back to being friends if it doesn't work initially, its worth the risk!

If it doesn't work, the distance may help because it will be easier to have a bit of distance and go back to being friends than it would if you lived in the same area.

Re: confuzzed...

My boyfriend was my friend before we got together. Went to school together. Always liked each other but never knew how the other felt. We got together in July 2009 and I've never been happier. He's the best thing to ever happen to me. I was terrified that if it didn't work I'd lose a great friend but the chance of him being 'the one' (which he is) outweighed that entirely.

I'd go for it. If it ends up half as well as my relationship is you'll be so happy.

Good luck. PM me if you want x
