I've been taking my paeds one in. Its a sure thing...comfortable, loud and clear. I used the Littman's Cardio one and found it awkward. Very hard to hear. The ear pieces hurt my ears. We use endotracheal ones during ops and they are not too bad. I seem to have very tiny ears though.

Glad you found some you like! The colours sound great! I am thinking of getting a neonatal one too...might have to go for lilac. My paeds one is pine green.

Right I finally stopped faffing around and prevaricating and made a descision. After much mind changing just at the 'submit order' part and after reading and reading, I got a brand that hasn't been mentioned here at all, Spirit.

I actually ordered two, a paeds one and a neonatal- one in baby pink and the other in lilac.

My first go with a stethoscope was my first week in practice where they use Littmans, and I really didn't like them at all. The main problem I found was that the earpieces were just too big to go in my ear properly, which made it hard to get a seal and as they are hard, damn uncomfortable when I did. I assumed all stethoscopes were of the same ilk-

But having just got my two Spirits through today I am delighted to say that they are not. They come with hard gray earpieces attached, but also have three other sets, one of which is soft and smaller and not only fit me perfectly first time, but is coloured to match the tubing!

I also got a really really good sound on them, found my cats heartbeats right away, loud and clear, none of the fumbling I have had with the Littmans having to be bang on one spot and even then not hearing clearly.

I can't wait to get started with them in practice!

Got my Littman paeds classic through a few days ago and I am in love. The sound is so clear(and my hearing is not great). It has a dual head for high and low frequency sounds. The tubing is a bit short but easily replaced and they offered free engraving.

The prices are great on medisave.co.uk

Tried it on my chinchillas once I managed to stop them squirming by bribing them with raisins.

Have tried them find them useless. For me they are designed to be pretty but a waste of space.

I like the look of those ones with funky heads, but don't like using them at all! One of our vets has one as well as her littman so we have it as a spare...very rarely gets used!
