I never thought about questions not counting...why do they ask them then?! It's mean! I'd be likely to come out with a load of twaddle or just look at them blankly, even if i do know the answer! Nerves damn them...argh mine are in sept

Ha, ha don't worry I'm sure you will be fine!

I think they ask the questions purely if you are going for a "Credit" pass mark. But I think to get that you have to cover all steps in every task, and correctly answer the questions. I didn't get questions in my radiography or bandaging tasks as I only just finished them in time!!

You will be fine don't worry, the examiners are nice and know its a scary thing!

Good luck for september!

I can imagine her doin that! Then again I only had one grim looking examiner. Glad I helped a bit and glad you got on ok! Yeah I mucked up my radiography like I said with the labelling!!
I miss Myerscough!! Finished my vet nurse training there last year, and their set up is fantastic!! Maggie who was one of our tutors (and an examiner- lovely btw) said that at exam time they even put lavender plug-ins everywhere to create a feeling of calm- how cool is that? I couldnt get my exam there and had to do it at Nottingham.

I think if i remember rightly on the Myerscough website, you can actually have a look at the animal academy (where the exams are held) so that could give you a jist of how the place lies! As for xray machines they have 2, cant remember exactly how you control the light beam diaphragm, but the examiners are supposed to show you how they work (remember they are sneaky and like to keep it in the closed position so it looks like its not working!!). The one i used at Nottingham didnt have a big enough light i was confused as to where to put my markers!! The microscopes they use are pretty standard bifocal type ones.

Don't worry about not being used to the equipment, because most people have that problem and the examiners expect this. If you're not sure how something works just ask them, they can't fail you for it!

Hope all goes well, just breathe, read the questions carefully and talk your way through what you're doing (makes you seem confident in your abilities, instead of a quivering wreck )

Oh n if you see Maggie (glasses, ginger, bonkers but ace) say hi from me! (maybe after that task not halfway through mind....lol), good luck!
