hope he's ok.

I still havent been able to find a way to correct it either. Im completely lost without him tonight as he is in the vet school having an mri tomorrow :( so weird without him

Re: Help!
Just wanted to say good luck! They are far too clever lol!

i thought about the toys trick, I will carry a ball with me and try it.

Its just so frustrating because im just back in with her now and she was perfectly well behaved! I have bought a training lead off ebay so back to basics with the training

I have given her lots and lots of praise each time she came back today (and will continue with this)

I just find it annoying because I know she knows what to do its as if she is saying 'eff off, im not ready to come home yet!'

a nurse at work put it into perspective for me today by saying that in the 6 months I have had her she has only done it maybe 3/4 times which isnt an awful lot, but needs to be adressed.

thanks for your advice, and yes collies are way to clever for their own good!!!

If food that makes it easy as when you're doing her recall, give her a treat and send her off again. With toys you may find it easier to keep a favourite one that she can only play with for short times at home on occasion and then out on walks-again call her over, reward with toy and let her go again.

Collies are just too clever for their own good at times and not getting her into a routine when out for walks should keep her on the ball as it were!

Good Luck!

Re: Help! I have ordered a long training lead off ebay this afternoon so i can take her back to basics!

Its so annoying because she doesnt run away, just stands and watches me walk away! today she bolted when I approached, I remained calm and talking in a positive voice etc. and didnt scold her (even though I could have screamed blue murder at her! )

It is a regular walk up on the moors but I will try and altenate which way I go round!

thanks again x

Obviously vary where you walk, so she doesn't get into a routine of when the walk ends.
