when i was locuming in maidenhead (october 2006) there had been a case a few months before of some kids finding a sweet natured female staffie and taking her up 16 floors in a block of flats and throwing her out of the window. she took about half ab hour to die after she hit the ground

A few years ago a friend of mine was imprisoned for a month, and he ended up in the same wing as a guy who had abused a dog badly. The pictures of the dog with cigarette burns all over it was actually on the front page of the News of the World. This was in 2005.

Lets just say that on the very rare occasion that these scum do end up getting a custodial sentance, they are treated in much the same was as rapists and paedofiles by the rest of the prison population.

I can't say I'm sorry for that.

Second thought - animal abusers should be locked, unarmed in a room full of veterinary nurses/auxillarys (lol) - THAT would be good!!

Soooo true! If someone is sick enough to deliberately hurt/toruture/kill an innocent animal why wouldn't they be able to do it to another human being. I personally think animal cruelty is not taken seriously enough - there is proof that murderers have got a history of abusing/killing animals. As per usual with this country - slap on the wrist is fine! Human rights and all that b******t!!!!

I cant even bring myself to look at the link - makes me feel ill at the thought of what that poor dog went through.

Did anyone read the article in this weeks vet times about the dog bludgeoned so severely to its injury it was pts once it got to the vets-the suffering that dog must have went through - they didnt even kill it just left it to suffer in pain and die.

The really maddening thing is and its disgusting- when these people are caught what are the going to get punished with......a ban on keeping animals for life - that seems to be a common punishment in our legal system.Disgusting.
