At my practice the QVNs wear the traditional bottle green tunics with bottle green trousers, and the SVNs, ANAs and Kennel Assistants wear aqua green tunics with bottle green trousers... or dresses abiding by the same colour rule! :)

i have to say i hate my uniform im still a green/whte stripey(not for much longer tho) the nursing home opposite have the cleaners wearing the same colour even down to the trousers, have to admit to avoiding walking out at the same time as the cleaner, am not demeaning cleaners by any means, i was one once!!!!!!

In my first practice the vet insisted as a trainee I wear a green/white striped dress. It was a mixed practice and wasnt practical when trying to stomach tube calves!!!!!

I now wear greens in winter and shorts and tshirt in summer...which will be in the next couple of months.

Nurses wear blue wiv black trousers, vets wear blue as well and the student (moi) wears whatever i want as long as it's smart. Usually black trousers and a shirt.

I think receptionists wear black because reception is EVIL!!!!

I have every bit of respect for receptionists, i did 18 months (the longest 18months of my life!) on reception in our hospital/referral centre, it was awful!! way way more stressful than any situation ive been in while 'nursing'

We all wear scrubs ..I don't think the ones we have look very smart but they are cheap and practical. Nurses including SVN's wear green, vets wear blue and auxillaries wear burgundy, receptionist wear black

All nursing staff in navy with name badges stating our position. I personally like the navy, feels smarter than green. Vets have blue tunic (used to have white, but showed up hair and dirt too much!), receptionists black trousers with navy polo shirt.

VN's green, SVN's stripes or greeny turquoise (stripes are a bit pale!), ANA navy.

Receptionists chose black (no idea why...)

I am the only student at my practice and was excited to get my green and white striped uniform as was in black before hand. Half way through my first year the boss decided to put every one in green and white. Kinda took away from the fact that I was training. Really looking forward to getting my greens.

I wear bottle green tunic with black trousers - hated the green trousers, student wears same trousers but stripey tunic. I dont like it if everyone wears the same as clients should be able to clearly see who is who - worked at one practice where everyone in blue and white stripe and clienst thought receptionist was a nurse. Very confusing.

Althou now I'm wearing blue trousers and white top with dodgy multi-coloured epaulets! Still get to wear my greens at the weekend

when I say personal preference...I mean the bosses personal preference...my boss doesnt mind which I wear...so thats one cool thing!

I have a green uniform but dont wear it...I much prefer my cartoon dog/ cat scrub tops, I have my name badge with my qualification, but I think the clients love to see the scrub tops, everyone always comments on them, my sister in law sends them from the US, so I have a whole array of different ones, I am more comfortable in them I do agree that the green uniform looks smarter and more professional, personal preference I guess

Their team colours are green and white stripes and their football grounds are across the road from our practice. When I was a student VN I wore pale green and I remember putting petrol in my car some guy stopped to talk to me about how hot it gets in summer in hospitals and asking which hospital i worked at lol.

in greens you get it in asda and wyevale and used to in homebase before they changed their uniforms. ironically, when some one did ask me in homebase where something was i was able to help them coz i used to work in that store.

We work damn hard for a greens and should be proud to wear them! Really wouldn't want to wear another colour - don't see the need! Some practices I've worked in previously as a locum have all nurses in same colour so there wasn't any 'us and them' between students and qualifieds but I've never really seen this as an issue.

That was how I felt when I moved to my first "proper" VN job just before qualifying, was so sad that I wasn't going to get to wear green I'm sure the novelty would wear off, but I spent my whole time training knowing that to wear green was to have "made it" so it was quite dissapointing not to get to.

QVN wear bottle green, SVNs wear green/white stripes, Degree student nurse wears aqua, vets wear blue scrub top and receptionists wear black blouse/tunic tops
