and yes they were involved in releasing mink. it happened round here too - idiots

Absolutely, there is a way of putting points across and wanting to change thinks but no the way PETA go about it. Weren't the Animal Liberation Front connected to PETA when all those thousands of mink were released about 10 years ago in the New Forest - crazy behaviour.

I would agree with you - far too common for some celebs to get on the bandwagon, get some attention and then forget about the cause five minutes later. Hopefully will be wrong though with this.

Must say I would feel uncomfortable about having that number of animals released back into natural environments if these sorts of establishments closed. Keiko the whale never really got the hang of cohabiting with other whales preferring to stay local to people which isn't surprising after 20 years captivity and didn't really have an ideal ending.

yes I feel releasing them is never going to be easy - will take years by which time most of the celeb supporters will have melted into obscurity and will prob result in most of them dying - the disney ending everybody wants is just not going to happen.

I dont agree with animals of any description being captured from the wild and forced into captivity but neither do I agree with just forcing them back into what will then be an alien environment to them and leaving them to it. If we have taken them from their natural environment and forced them into an unnatural way of living then we are responsible for their well being - and sometimes for some of them that isnt going to mean release.
