I live in a ground floor flat with my own small garden. I got my cats in september last year as adult neuters, having previously been used for breeding (pedigree Selkirk Rex) and been kept in pens outside

Re: cat proofing a garden
How high is your fence and what is it made of?

Also, maybe a silly question, but is there a reason why you don't want them to leave the garden? Are you on a busy road that way?
It's a standard 6foot ish wooden garden fence with a trellis along the top, not been here long enough to have plants growing up the trellis yet though!

I don't want them to leave the garden as 1. They're nearly 2 and have never been out so have absolutely no road sense/life sense in general, 2. They're curly coated and obviously not moggies so I don't want them stolen, and 3. I live near to fairly busy roads...as well as me being devastated the breeder would be heartbroken if anything happened to them which is ultimately avoidable

I thought about doing my own version of the purrfect fencing - it should be fairly easy with some sort of brackets and netting?

I don't think the upstairs neighbours would approve of a playpen :(

It has climbing frames and toys, and tree trunks to scratch at. A local man who builds sheds, chicken houses, bird avairies etc built it to my spec. It cost £280 but is perfect and the cats love it. They come in and out when they please when I am at home. It's attached to patio doors. If it were a normal door I'd put in a cat flap.

Re: cat proofing a garden

Purrfect fencing but like Sal says it is expensive

Re: cat proofing a garden

I live on a busyish road and have decided to put up a run for mine - will be putting a cat flap from the back porch so they can go in and out of the run as they want to.
