Would it not be better to phase out/dump/remove the job forum section altogether and make a drop down scroll for recruitment agencys/jobs wanted/vacant then all jobs sections are in the same place.

OK, unless some outcry, we've decided as follows:

1. The main Jobs Section of the site remains untouched.

2. The Jobs Forum in its current form will be phased out, and replaced with:

a) Situations wanted, which already exists within the main job section (top navigation), but I am changing the permissions so that it is not accessible by recruitment agencies. So if you are ONLY interest in hearing from practices, not agencies, that is where you post.

b) Recruitment agency forum. This will replace the job forum, and will be the place to post a message if you want to hear about agency vacancies, or discuss issues with recruitment agencies.

Urgh getting confused by the whole thing, the words are swimming! But yes, i have seen agencies pop up quite regularly, would be good for them to have somewhere to go, and be banned elsewhere!

Been blitzing them everywhere (as a result of the fact that I've had more complaints about these sorts of posts than anything else!)

How about just tell agencys that they have to post situations on the jobs wanted (up there) section then you can have one jobs blog jobs and one vacancies section. not sure how you will lock out the agencies anyhow they can still sneak on and post so just keep it simple.

Having looked through the blog section there is not so many recruitment comments there unless you have blitzed them from jobs wanted blog or did you mean you blitzed them from forum posts?

sounds ok to me, and if people use the jobs wanted bit rather than posting on a forum thread it keeps all the jobs in the same place

Good point

We've got a lot of different jobs options! Perhaps we need to consolidate them.

The job section 'up there' is the traditional way in which people can advertise a job vacancy. This will stay.

Then there is the job forum and the situations wanted blog.

In fact, the job forum is a hangover from the old site, where we didn't have the ability for people to post situations wanted.

Now that we do, the question is whether you need or want a job forum AND a situations wanted noticeboard.

I think it is a bit of a duplication of effort.

Perhaps better to close the job forum.

Then have 'two situations' wanted announcement blogs. One would be visible to, and accept comments from recruitment agencies. The other would not.

So, if you are job hunting and want to hear from practices and agencies, you post your situation wanted on BOTH boards.

If you do not want to hear from agencies, you would JUST post to the private enquiry board.
