Neither liked to be picked up (I never wanted attention demanding cats) and my boy will never sit on your lap facing you (on the rare occasions he does) but I'd never be without a bengal. I love the breed and everything about them. Love my snows and brown spotted, not so keen on the silvers tho (they came in after I'd left the breeding scene - I worked for a few breeders, one is/was very well known on the circuit. My attempt at breeding was a disaster, one litter, one kitten and I kept him......epic fail! lol!) Even saw a few blues, but breeders rarely confessed to breeding them. Long haired blues are walking powderpuff balls, so sweet!

£3000?? wtf, stud cats don't even go for that much unless they are ALCs or F1s... Had she taken some time to work with him she prolly could have worked out a way of chilling him out and getting some sleep. They usually look for attention for a reason, he was probably just asking her something. They are very intelligent. They turn things into games when you tell them off as well.

Re: Bengal cats

They are beautiful cats...i can imagine a lot of hard work though!

Re: Bengal cats

We are seeing a lot more but also seeing a lot more bengal crosses too. They are lovely cats and would like to be owned by one, or maybe two one day! We are seeing a huge variation in markings/ coat etc with some looking just like tabbies to me!!

Our boss has two of them 'Gavin' and 'George' and they are amazing! Keep me entertained for hours with their comical ways. They are what you would call ''special'' cats

Re: Bengal cats

Hey

Working in a cat only practice I see several pedigrees and we have a fantastic Bengal breeder.

I have to say they are unlike any other breed of cat. They are beautiful but a real handful. If you aren't 100% you can commit a lot of time to the breed I would suggest it isn't the breed for you

Re: Bengal cats

We had a crazy client with 2 bengals and one of them was difficult to live with. One of his problems was that he kept her awake all night prowling around the house looking for her and the only way she could get any rest was to sneak out of her bedroom into another room without the cat noticing and this was every night and it had to be at different times so he didn't work out what she was doing as he settled down on her bed when she had gone but wouldn't settle if she was there........mad what some people would put up with (and she paid £3000 for the pleasure of owning this cat from a well known bengal breeder)

I must admit though he was one of the most beautiful looking cats i'd ever seen but having to clip his nails was a nightmare as he was so strong

Re: Bengal cats

Bengals are not for everyone and most prefer to be with another bengal or ideally litter mate! they are brilliant cats though!!
