They are the vets that are in pets at home stores. Seems very random to me to have it in a pet store! Anyone worked in one or knows some

Re: Companion Care Vets

I had an interview for the new Salford branch yesterday... ive not nursed for nearly 8 years now, and the interview went really well - even if I dont get the job, I got a good feeling from the interview, that they are an excellent company to work for, who care about their staff. They seem a lot more accomodating to peoples work/life needs, than a lot of private standalone practices - The rota system seems very fair and flexible and they are prepared to take on part time staff, which has been my main barrier up to now, trying to return to nursing after becoming a parent.

And on the subject of PAH.. Im not a big fan of the pet trade either , I would definitely always take strays on rather than buy from a store, but what better place to be, to be on hand to help make sure the in-house animals at PAH are being kept in the best conditions and the best health !

Im keeping my fingers crossed for a job there anyway

Re: Companion Care Vets

I can't wait to start!!

Re: Companion Care Vets

I am a Trainee VN at companion care, and I have to say the vets are lovely and the Joint venture vet is lovely, very approchable lovely place to work.

The surgery itself was quite small but had most the mod cons, ultrasound, digital xray, endoscopy etc. Although as someone else mentioned they are run by individual vets but with a head office in tow so each is different.

The onyl problem I had was when on reception most commonly asked question.... Where can I find the fish! Otherwise had no problems but if you have any further questions please feel free to ask.

Re: Companion Care Vets

I work at a Companion Care!
I think it would be really nice to get in on a new practice with them, but as mentioned, it's only as good as the vet and other staff.

Re: Companion Care Vets

I have done locums for them and never had a problem

Re: Companion Care Vets

I used to work for them, each surgery will differ as they are run by one (or more) of the vets with the support of the office.

TBH I never had any probs with them, they only get involved in the PAH animals when approached by the staff and do free health checks for all the small furries when they are sold. So if you notice something wrong (as a customer) with the animals in PAH you need to speak to the PAH staff NOT the CC staff.

I found the hardest thing was getting the PAH staff to actually bring anything to you in the first place and training them to spot potential problems.

Re: Companion Care Vets

I did some locum work at one clinic, really nice surgery and lovely staff.

Re: Companion Care Vets

i am afraid i havnt got a lot good to say about them, after a recent visit to pets at home!!!!
