Well I seem to have put on weight since last year- all the lard seems to have settled on my boobs and belly, so alot of bras and trousers have bit the dust.

Re: Diets.

My mom did slimming world and lost loads on it. size 16 down to size 10 now. practice manager has too. i ate the food my mom did when i was still at home and its yummy! still cook it now i have moved out

Re: Diets.

I put on weight with WW found it very rigid with very little variety.

Quite a few years ago I did various diets but they never really work long term, and after giving up smoking and then starting to take antihistamines every day, and then also generally being not so concerned with wt gain over the last few years, it has crept up and up andup.... only ever weighed myself about once every 6 mths.... have previously done weightwatchers a few times.

But since the new year I've been doing SW and so far, amazingly, it's been sucessful... and It has not been too much of an effort. I love my food, always taught to eat everything on my plate, have fairly recently got into cooking, and also enjoy good tasting food/ingredients eg butter, etc. Which also means that for me portion control is an issue... ie I like to have lots on my plate!

I've been doing it on-line, rather than a group.... would find it difficult to go to a group at the same time, same place each week.

What I've found that I like about SW is that there are certain foods that you can eat as much as you like of, eg eggs, fruit, pasta, lean meat, fat free yoghurt and equivalent etc which satisfies my hunger (These are all things I love anyway) ... at first you don't think it will work, because you are eating so much, but I have never felt hungary after eating a meal because I know I can have more if I want.... good psychological battle! The 1st week I spent learning the rules and eating as much as I like, the 2nd week I spent eating as much as I like and after that I found that I settled down and I ate reasonable portions naturally rather than forced.

Anyway so far for me it seems to be working well.... I've lost approx nearly 6 kg and I hven't lost any wt for years! So I'm really pleased.... I've also found food hasn't become so much of an obsession as it did when I tried wtwatchers.... I really need this to work and become a healthy way of life rather than a diet, because every 5 years or so I've been putting on 5kg or so and it needed to stop!

Sorry bit of a waffle!
