I do 1/2hr walk for £6, cat visits for feeding £5 a visit, looking after horses/chickens etc £15 for 2 visits a day (usually take 45mins in total) and doggie housesitiing with 2 walks a day I only charge £15 and bring all my own food!..don't have the guts to charge more when people have been paying me that for years, would charge more to cover petrol if it was far away tho.

I say charge as much as you can to start with cus its hard to increase it once you get to know people, and when advertising make a big thing about being a vetnurse cus it definitly sways people and they will regularly ask you for advice!

Re: dog walking

As a student i was doing pet sitting on the side. If i was just going to feed cats i charged 5 a visit and same for rabbits. But if i was living in with dogs i charged roughly 25 a day - and asked for the fridge to be stocked! Did a 3week stint at house with 2 dogs, 2 cats and chickens - was on 35 a day and she left me 100 to use on groceries and petrol (as it was further to work) - really helped top up the student wages!!

Re: dog walking

A VN friend of mine does it, she charges around £10 an hour, usually does 2 at a time if they are good with other dogs or from the same home or 1 on its own if not.

She also does cat visits/feeding and small pets cleaning/feeding etc and charges between £6 and £10 a visit.

Its a great way to make more money!! She is insured as well

Re: dog walking

I know somebody near me who does it (she walks a few dogs in our village) and charges £12 per walk for 2 dogs from the same home. If there are more dogs in the home she charges a bit extra but I think she only walks two at a time. None of this 15 dogs from different homes lark! She is also insured.
