In order to remain registered as an RVN you obviously have to complete 45 hours of CPD over 3 years, and also be working in veterinary practice. Would it be possible for someone to work

Re: RVN & locuming

I was under the impression that you can stay registered even if you do not work in practice? Providing you complete required CPD?

"Those joining the Register will be known as Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) and their registration will demonstrate to employers and the general public that they are keeping their skills up-to-date and accounting for their professional conduct"

http://www.rcvs.org.uk/Templates/Internal.asp?NodeID=96375&int1stParentNodeID=89646

A full explanation of the terms and conditions of joining the Register can be found in the Veterinary Nursing Bye-Laws 2008

"So, whether you work in general clinical practice, the pharmaceutical or pet food industries or are running your own pet-care business, if you are doing this by virtue of your veterinary nursing knowledge and skills you should be registered."
