 One of our clients runs a shoot, and every few months brings us all in game for free. I got a pheasent last week. I know this can make them a lot less tough (especially the older birds) but my preference is eat within a few days&amp;nbsp; - and same day if poss - and also they are much &amp;#39;nicer&amp;#39; to gut and dress when they are fresh, less smelly and the skin doesnt tear so easily&amp;nbsp;(if nice comes into this image at all!)&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Probably wouldn&amp;#39;t have been very nice kept flat and cold though.&lt;/p&gt;
