I had real problems a few years ago with bad mouth ulcers , i got them under my tongue and at the back of my mouth , found it hard to eat and made my speech very slurred ,lasted for weeks at a time , couldnt use topical applications as couldnt reach them.Mine were stress related i am sure.My boss at the time was a homeopath and concocted me a remedy following an in depth chat with me.Within 24hrs of taking my remedy they vanished and i have had no probs until last week,they are back with a vengeance,but i was clear of them for a good few years.

I have just e mailed him as i cant remember which remedy it was , so if he replies ( he has got "man flu" at the moment) i will post more .Homeopathy doesnt work for all but it never does any harm and when it works.................................................................BRILLIANT!

I really empathise with anyone with mouth ulcers - they hurt like mad. I always found gargling with salt water was the best treatment - stung like hell at the time though, but worth it!

I get them loads when i'm run down or have had a bad diet - i use listerine and bonjela - hurts loads but works after a couple of days. i had 14 all at once a few years back when i had flu!!

Got Bonjela mint yesterday as can't stand the taste of regular Bonjela. Was going to try Iglu but is 4 times cost of Bonjela so gonna try cheapest first.

Now maybe i am mad (great chance of that), but i think mint bonjella stings more and doesn't work as fast! Just me?

Got Bonjela mint yesterday as can't stand the taste of regular Bonjela. Was going to try Iglu but is 4 times cost of Bonjela so gonna try cheapest first.

im always gettin bloody mouth ulcers, esp round period time iv noticed! i swear by putting undiluted TCP straight onto it, gargle with it if you can bear it. everyone knows when i have a mouth ulcer at work cos i stink the whole place out with my TCP! thats the downside i suppose!

Clearly, what works for some, doesn't for others! My BF says that the Boots one is the only thing that has ever worked - he tried mouthwashes, bonjela & various other lotions & potions, before I found this one to try.

oraldene mouthwash or gel for me every time. I usually get ulcers when stressed, run down or generally in a soddy mood - which prob accounts for the 4 ulcers I have right now!

i use bonjella! I love the stuff though! I get them when stressed or not well! I usually get loads all at once, never just the one grr!!

Stress & lack of vitamin C are a couple of causes. My BF uses Boots own treatment. It is a little box of cotton buds which you snap, to release the medication, that you apply to the ulcer. He says it is bloody brilliant! (Stings though)

Will also pass the info onto hub thanks. He gets terrible a mouth ulcer always some place under his tongue or on the frenulum where he can not reach with teeth no dentist has come up with a plausible reason but is mega painful.

Yeah get it as hot as you can, you know its working if it hurts (sorry thats a bit sadistic )

Then just swill your mouth out with warm water after to get rid of the taste

I've been using chlorhexidine mouthwash but to no avail. May have to resort to salt water, will make me but if it gets rid of 'em then it's worth it
