It has calmed him down as he was very "on his toes" in the ring which older judges seem to like but I would rather a calmer attitude in the ring.

Re: Suprelorin

As I said above my boy can be a litlle male aggressive when on the lead as well as bitching the superlorin has stopped it all he is like a neutered dog and as I said above they have tended to last longer each time obviously evey dog is different.

He is a joy to live with and enjoys his walks and socialising with others now.

It is only about 48 pound for a box of 2 at cost so think it would work out cheaper then tardak as tardak only lasts 3 weeks and this will last a minimum of 6 months,

Speak to your virbac rep for more info or goggle suprelorin as I got my first implant for my dog from australia as they werent out here I found it when looking for alternatives to castration.

We also have at least 4 dogs in the practice who have it

We have mainly used it for cases where GA is not an option or o not keen. eg we have a 15yr old shih tzu and it has shrunk his anal adenomas to nothing.

Re: Suprelorin

Hard as it sounds from what you say it will be immaterial as soon as it bites someone (soon reading your comments and bearing in mind it is an out of control rottie) it is going to be destroyed "baby or no baby"

Re: Suprelorin

as well as for preventing mating, has anyone used it for behavioural problems ?

we're about to use Tardak for a dog at our low income clinic, partly because the owner wanted a quicker fix than castration, partly because the problems with the dog (a year old rottie who is her "baby"-now you see why there's a problem.....) are behavioural and need to be addressed by training asap.
Funds are limited but Tardak is probably going to cost £40 or so depending on his weight.....
Wondered if this drug is as good/better/cheaper etc... as not heard of it and the vets didn't mention using it instead of Tardak.

thanks

Re: Suprelorin

That helps loads, thanks.

We was due the 2nd at the end of October but hasn't shown much in the way of signs until now.

Gaia isn't due into season until Mid March so have got the inplant in ready for next week.

Poor boy going to go through it in Feb as due boosters, KC, rabies booster and Suprelorin.

Re: Suprelorin

hi
