I friggin- LOVE Marmite. I like Tesco's own best though. Not that keen on Vegiemite as I find it a bit salty.

I am happy being a veggie, but I don't appreciate meat eaters preaching at me. I don't preach to them, so how is that fair. I am happy to agree to disagree. I am happy in my beliefs, and as they are mine, thats my choice.

Besides when i see meat seved on the bone, it makes me want to barf. haha.

so maybe its possible to agree to disagree on this. The last time this came up things got a bit heated and unpleasant.

I have been both sides of the fence on this - was vegetarian for 20 + years. As a veggie I got fed up of people who thought I was weird or eating a deficient diet and people who said they were veggie but ate fish and chicken (work that out!), not being able to eat out that often because veggie restuarants just didnt exist and veggie meals available in restuarants were largely represented by 'vegetarian lasagne or jacket potato with various fillings'.

As a meat eater I am now fed up of vegetarians who condemn me for my diet who now blame me for anything from global warming to mass murder of animals.

You are damned if you do and you are damned if you dont. Its a personal preference what you decide to eat. Neither side is perfect and neither side should have to justify their selves to the other

Smeg am not disregarding ur opinion i respect and choose not to get in to a discussion about it by saying it was a matter for another day. Being a vegetarian is something i am very passionate about.

I don't see what you see as natural about eating meating nor did i question you on it. I amnot going to get into an argument over eating meat or not., i just don't like when people make the statement that "its natural to eat meat". It's clear to me that its not natural to eat meat, its clear to me meat and fish is not healthy it's clear to me that my chances of getting illnesses such as diabetes, heart disease and cancer are greatly reduced with a vegetarian diet in comparison to a meat eating diet, its clear to me that being a vegetarian or vegan is a sustainable diet and finally its clear to me that meat and fish resources will not always be there, then what?

I respect your view smeg, doesn't mean am going to agree with it. Meat and fish eating is a man made thing, we don't need meat!

Lucky you- as I said in an earlier post I have been made to feel that I shouldn't be in this profession because I can't possibly be an animal lover if I eat meat (and, God forbid- enjoy it!) so yes i get confrontational and argumentative. Maybe I'm just unlucky and have met alot of veggies and vegans who seem to think they are better people for their choices. I couldn't care less what people eat but I shouldn't be made to feel guilty about what I eat

I have been vegetarian for 8 years, but this Christmas I had turkey! Since then I've been having the occasional bit of fish and chicken. I no longer claim to be ''veggie'' but I'd still like my occasional dabble to be ethical, so there will be instances where it's just easier to tell people I'm vegetarian rather than question where they bought their meat from and cause a fuss.

It always used to get on my *** having to explain why all the time too!

I loveedddd bovril so so so good!! but it's not veggy anymore! They put the beef back in it boo!!

What's the different between Vegemite and Marmite? I like Marmite, just a bit with butter on toast...splendid. Interest in Vegemite as some Aussies mentioned at a hostel a while ago, have yet to find some.

Marmite was the original and uses a yeast extract which is broken down. The others like veggimite [aussie] and several other yeast pastes are identical but can not call them selves marmite because of copyright.

I was reading up on it in my bathroom book of facts by chance the other night.

I think there are lots of great vegetables out there to try. I suppose its like everything else its trial and error. I am a meat eater but I do like my veggies too.

I'm not veggie, but have no problem with people who are. If i were veggie i wouldn't tell people they were wrong to eat meat, just like i don't tell veggies to eat meat. Phew, does that sentence make sense!? People have a choice as to whether they eat meat or not. Telling someone they should or shouldn't eat meat is like telling someone what religion to be. I enjoy meat, that is why i'm not veggie! All just my opinion, i'll shut up now!

I don't take B12, but do get it from yeast extracts (the only way I have this is a spoonful added when I am making my Bisto gravy), veggieburger mixes, textured vegetable protein in differnt forms, it's added to soya milks, vegetable and sunflower margarines, and breakfast cereals.

I reckon most of mine comes from my brekkie cereals, soya milk and tvp.
