I much prefer exercise classes but am trying to cancel my membership, does anyone have any ideas for exercise
I currently belly dance

Re: Exercise

Climbing/bouldering :)

Re: Exercise

Sex is always a good calorie burner!! You just have to find a willing partner!!!

Re: Exercise

Salsa classes are fab

Re: Exercise

will keep an eye on this one coz i cancelled my membership when my rota changed coz dont fini in time for classed.

I did karate for 2 years, its really good exercise and good self defence. I felt so much more confident walking around by myself. And it was really good for toning my arms and legs. There are always loads of classes around.

Re: Exercise

I used to know a nurse who used poi, she used to organise club nights so think she did it for that but looks a lot of fun, and impressive too. There are various videos online showing you 'how to...' i sit and watch them then go and master it.

There are various 'meets' up and down the county too, which means you can talk to other peeps, learn tips and tricks and not pay so its cheaper than classes :)

Its really good for stress relief, makes you use both left and right side of your brain, and tones your arms fantastically!! Plus being super fun :)

Re: Exercise

i know you said you cant afford a wii but for those that already have one you should be just dance, its good fun and i was on it for half an hour the other day, the following morning i was in agony so it must be workin me somewhere

Walking on sand/snow is very good as your burning more energy with each step.

Another one is swimming, again free, if you want to go for a swim in a river or even the sea. However, I guess the pool is better.

Cycling is good, try cycling to work. I'm not sure how far away you are from it. But it may be worthwhile seeing how far away it is at a weekend, if it's feasible try getting in that way instead of by car. It'll save on petrol too!

That's all I can think of. Hopefully it'll help.
Best of luck!

Re: Exercise

have you thought of power walking?
